Default Thanks for years of help and parting gift

Thanks for seven years of helping my son and I work on a 928. I've just sold the vehicle and wanted to say how much this group helped. We tackled everything from rebuilding the front grill to working on the hatch receiver, and almost everything in between. I think we wore out a couple of 10mm sockets putting in new ball joints, oil pan gasket, steering rack and circuit board in the pod. We worked on the alternator, lights (headlights, driving lights, fog and side markers) and CV joints. In the end, he was the only student at school with a 928 and we spent many weekends together (probably because he couldn't go anywhere). He finally moved on to a six cylinder Firebird (30 mpg and very dependable) when he went out of state for college and I finally combined my convertible and sports car addiction with a C5 Corvette (okay, my wife finally let me). On the positive side, it has a V8, transaxle and nearly perfect weight distribution. I wonder where they got those ideas??

Last year I made the ultimate mistake of running the Porsche low on transmission fluid and spent all winter replacing the transaxle. Your group once again gave me pointers and helped me complete the biggest wrenching job in the history of my garage. Although most of the spare parts went with the car to its new owner, I still have a transaxle with a bad first gear and good (non-locking) differential free to anybody that can pick up in Kansas City. It has A22/01 and (serial?) 1600266 stamped on the side. I also have most of a firewall with some HVAC plumbing attached stuck in a barn north of Columbia, MO, free to anybody that can pick up. I hate to throw these parts away if anybody can use one piece or need a core.

Again, thanks for years of help. Rick Headrick - hhead3@kc.rr.com

It is always nice to read of people that the list has helped. Good luck and I am sure some one will ****** that transaxle soon.

I guess the whitewalls never quite caught on with the Porsche Engineers...
