I have one from 7 years ago, I was 15 in high school parents were out of the country I took the 928 out to the movies and was basically just being dumb, flooring it every chance I had. Got pulled over by the police cop realized I had no DL and just asked me some questions about what kind of car it was and let me go. I almost s*** my pants. Drove straight home.

Never been pulled over for speeding in 27 years of driving. Guess I'm not trying hard enough.

Nope, 'fraid I'm serious. I don't get out much, being a starving student for 16 years will do that. Trying to make up for lost time now....

My most recent stop was in Southern Illinois on I55...for following too close..... Cop was in the median as we came over a rise. All sorts of people jumped on their brakes.....guy to the right of me and slightly ahead pulled into my lane to keep from hitting the fellow in front of him. Just then we went by the cop...i was certainly too close, but not of my making. Anyhow, I got stopped....I actually think he was more interested in the possiblilty of a drug bust.....unusual Texas car far from home has to be doing something "wrong"....

Some poor SOB overhere got clocked at 295 kph on a newly opened motorway [twin turbo I believe]. Named and shamed in the local press and to my knowledge he is still in the lock up [I was told he got 3 months] and his car has not been seen since! They are getting tough these days.
When I was at college in Leeds [1975 'ish] I got pulled over by a bike cop in an unmarked car [because his Triumph m/c had broken down]. it was a 40 mph zone and he told me he could not book me because he could not assess my speed as he was going flat out at 88 mph in a Vauxhall Viva and I was leaving him! He did say he would have booked me for dangerous driving had I overtaken anyone. We then spent an hour and a half talking bikes- me and my new best friend. That was a nice bike- a BSA Rocket Gold Star- the chap who built it clocked it at Elvington speed trials- 134 mph. It was very highly tuned with twin carbs, heavily worked heads and a works racing camshaft. The poor thing has not seen light of day for 21 years still encased in a wooden sarcophagus in my UK garage [assuming it is still there]. A pal on a similar bike got nicked for doing 88mph in a 30 zone- tghe magistrate asked him what he was doing- his reply quote " I was trying to get it out of second your honour". Needless to say he lost his license for 6 months.
I also got pulled in Ras Al Khaimeh several years ago doing 100 mph in a 70 mph zone in the S4. The officer in charge asked me what speed I was doing, I told him the truth, he commented on how that was quite slow for a Porsche and thanked me for driving carefully in his country! I think he was impressed by my honesty and could not be bothered with the hassle of dealing with an Omani driving license holder. He was also a big bike fan and noted my driving license saying I was also qualified on bikes- Also had a BMW R80GS back in Oman at the time- these things do make a difference sometimes.
Also got a ticket for doing 100 mph in my backyard and it cost me $20 after discount. Good value that one! Not sure what they would have said/done had they known I was maxxed out a few minutes earlier. They were a bit more forgiving in those days.
Regards
Fred

Before I was a policeman and much younger, I ran my 1991 Eagle Talon Tsi up to about a buck 30 and was nabbed. Was showing my dad the boost controller I had just installed. Unmarked unit was hiding rather well.
Let me go after explaining to me that cars are not toys. Well that and he had no radar. Also he couldnt pace me, as soon as I saw him, I got on the brakes. So basically he was accelerating from a stop as I was decelerating.
Could have gotten me for Wreckless Op, etc., but didnt. So I was thankful and learned from that.
Nice guy otherwise.

137 What state do you live in? My last ticket was not in the 928, but got 35 in 25. Big speed trap... Pleaded no Contest, and the judge said your right, gave me a whole $1 off. Last time you will ever see me wasting my time in that court...

TICKET-93MPH-55MPH ZONE
Got one ticket last summer while transporting the leather console for the 928,the cop clocked me at 93mph in a Mercedes on 55mph zone. He saw the leather console and asked what is it for ,i stated its for the Porsche 928. Gave me a ticket anyway, called Mr.Ticket in San Diego 99.00 and 3 months later the ticket was dismissed- Wow that would have been the end of the 928. Rob ,your eyes is usually doing about 150mph in the Gts but the car is always in the spotless restoration spot.
