Default Want to buy OB auto for wife

Couple years ago I bought a OB for my wife. Got a little carried away and now we have an S/C I/C 5SP OB. TOO much for Mamma! Who's got a decent driver for sale here?

That is a good call! OB as a fun car for the wife (or even as a DD) is a great choice!

Yep. I'm looking for an OB for my OL as well. What year are your looking for? Some people use OB for Old Bugger 78/79 or mean Old Body for the some 80s models. can't remember which, but I saw it in a thread recently.

I'll take that as a compliment, though I am pretty sure it was not meant as such!

Just like to be clear...Love Derek's OB...WITH S SPOILERS! LOL! Again, how confusing...I have an OB...oh yea, its an 83 (to 86) with spoilers.

That said, part of the point of getting an OB for an SO is that it does not sit as low so they won't be tearing up an S spoiler when they carelessly run ALL THE WAY UP to the concrete parking blocks or sidewalks and two (and maybe most importantly) no HUGE T-belt breakage issues...

My wife loves our '81 and I love to see her in it, alas it has been on loan to a friend for about 3.5 YEARS NOW! LOL! At least it has a nice garage space to call its own at his place and he has done all kinds of nice maintenance on it as well.

Hey, I have a well sourted 79 Euro. 77k miles, runs and drives like a new one. I have done all maintenance you can imagine from the bottom up from r&r of fuel system, r&r intake, breaks, radiator, rear cv joints etc... PM if interested. I will be putting it on ebay later tonight. Let me know if you are interested. cPayne, you know I will make you one heck of a deal.

By the way, just wanted to mention that this car has been my daily driver since 2006. I have driven it every day since. Only broke once when the rebuilt water pump froze up. Since this is a no-interfearence engine, all I had to do was put a new water pump from 928 specialist, new belt, rollers etc and it was back to like new. No other issues what so ever. The tb/wp will not be due until 2012. All you will need to do is change oil and the other routine maint.

Very good point .... the first time I drove up to a concrete wheel stop in my S, I learned the hard way that you need to back them in to be safe, or have very good perception of exactly where the spoiler is. A bit of a problem for shopping trips/big busy car parks and when you're in a hurry.

OB auto would be a good choice.

James, are you still wanting to sell the 84? It has thre best original paint / any paint on an OB I have seen and certainlty drives well.

Well, the '84 is not an OB, and I could be talked in to parting with it, though the paint is not original. Car was repainted at a Lincoln Mercury dealership in '92 (long before I had the car), I think it was the 2nd owner that had that done. That said the paint is still in VERY good condition and now (other than the dash and the radio) so is the interior! Priced in the stratosphere because everything is current and AWESOME on the car at $9500.
