Default Converting engine management.....

so i have decided to build up a 4.7 euro motor, then SC the thing. but id like to replace my L-jet with a better system. not being a computer programer or super "tuner"..... so im trying to figure out what one to get.

1. Carls set up.....
2. LH set up from a later car...
3.Mega squirt.

it seams the LH set up might be the easy way to go, but would i have any issues adapting it to a early car?

The LH is a dated system and while it was great for its time.
I am a huge fan of the standalone systems.

I vote for option #3 as it is a very good option. Simple can be done very cleanly.

Attached are some photos of a 4.7L NA that I converted to MSII V 3.57 W/ EDIS-8.
The car has been running for more than a year now and fires right up, and is very interesting to drive. I had to pull some advance out of it off idle and mid range so that you could actually drive it! Otherwise you would give it gas and the back end would just step out!

Car has passed our local emissions testing 2 years in a row, first one I adjusted it with a gas analyzer I have. Second year, not a change made.

Depending on the SCer used, you could do the same intake etc. and shorten all of your plumbing. Though an IC might be harder to place.

You're going to have to do a fair bit of tuning no matter which of those three options you choose. If you don't have a SharkTuner, or access to one, of those three choices, I'd definitely go with option #3.

Ducman,

I used a Ford TB which I was able to get the stock mating piece to easily come with it, so that I could weld that onto the intake plenum.

I am seriously considering converting my car to VEMS with COP or CNP

And, if you want the most flexibility, you could go with MS3, which, with a daughter board, would allow you to run fully sequential fuel injection, and coil on plug ignition. A wide-band O2 sensor should be mandatory for such a conversion, and will make tuning MS (at least the base fuel map) pretty easy.

The tougher things to tune are usually the dynamic items, like cold start, warmup curves, and acceleration enrichment.

Anyway, though, another vote for MS. Even something as simple as Microsquirt could work well.

I vote for MS3 Sequential. I'm heading that way slowly.

Will a stock 32vS throttle body (bigger than stock and has a TPS) bolt up to the 16v spider?
