Headers Rusted-AMAZING repair pix post 50

What kind of headers are they? I have a set of ceramic coated MSDS headers collecting dust in the hatch of my 79. I wasn't planning on installing them any time soon. I don't think they've ever been installed.
I can head down any night this week, pick some place along the way to meet up.
This does bring up an interesting question, where the heck is my 79?

AO,
Scheduling will be the major issue with the afore mentioned house guests, reunion and extra work before SITM, but I would like to do it if I can. When is this supposed to be going down?

Well, I was driving home from my alignment yesterday and noticed the car just didn't sound right. It sounded rough and loud.
I crawled under and noticed the gasket where the headers meet the y-pipe had rusted away and was hoping that was the problem. Dropped it off this morning (figured for $30 it would just be worth it to have done by someone with a lift). The just called and said that the headers had rusted through on both sides.
Don't think I want to drive it down to the mountains like this. I think I would go nuts with that much noise for that long.

Crank up the stereo and COME ON DOWN....once you are in the pack of 928s down here you won't be able to hear the leak anyway!
Seriously, if you can grab something you want to swap out,..or want to try and patch them when you get here my shop, tools and lift is all yours. I am not much good for wrenching currently, but there will be plenty of people here to help.
If you can't get the parts you need before you leave, I am sure one of the guys can bring or send down what they round up for you, or you can have it shipped here.
I also have a set of 85-86 32V manifolds, 16V manifolds, an OTT X-pipe, good factory cats and lots of other used exhaust stuff here that you can use if you want to go that route instead of new headers. Any of the used parts I have here you want or need to fix it is yours "on the house".
Also, if you want to try and patch them I can fire up the TIG and certainly help with that part of it....as long as you let me rest occasionally :-)
Not sure of your schedule, but we will be here Friday until 5pm or so and then back again on Sunday after 10am, so before or after those times is good for me, just give me a heads up to make sure the lift is clear. Even if you and some helpers want to come over during the weekend I can give you the keys and the password for my guy here (so you won't get shot, J/K :-)
Just let me know anything I can do...FYI, rusted headers are never an acceptable reason for not coming to SITM.. :-)
See you soon,
