Cayman S 18" wheels on a 928...

@Steve - I had that same mental question and decided to stray from the Cayman S tire spec and follow the 928 sizing. Hence my choice of the 265/35's in the rear. They are just slightly over at 25.3 or 25.4.
I haven't taken it out with the GPS for rough speed calibrations.
@Matt - I am exchanging a couple of PM's with a potential buyer for the D90's... But as of yet I still have them. Struggling a bit with what the right price is for these 8x16 and 9x16 wheels.

I can attest to the fact that they are just beautiful. I lusted after them myself but my phone dials are chromed and are almost perfect. They look so good with the black that I can't talk myself into removing them.
Growler, don't give them away... I will bet that they would look even better say in black chrome on my beast then the phone dials... Sorry I haven't been in touch but I have been pretty sick since the last time you were here. Finally comming out of it I hope and can get back to work.
See ya soon,

D-90s also sell to the VW guys on VW-Vortex for at least 700 for the set ; if they are black chromed or polished maybe more. Glad the tire sizing worked out.
That avatar pic looks better than I expected with those wheels.

I was figuring that the 265/40-18 might be easier to get while it is standard on the Cayman, just as the 225/50-16 was readily available for my 944S2 while it was Boxster standard fitment.

8s and 9s fit great on a S4!
235s are just covered by the front fender.
265s, one finger width space to the rear fender. (No spacer.)

I finally got around to fitting mine. I retained the tyres that they came with - Michelin Pilot Sports with plenty of tread.
With 235/40 up front, I get rubbing when turning, on the left only. I'll go 225/40 or 235/35 next time.
With 265/40 at the rear, the left needed the guard massaged for clearance. I can't imagine there was ANY chance of them fitting with spacers. This is larger than 928-spec, but the speedo is now within 1%, so I'll stick with that size.
They certainly update the appearance of the car, at not too great a price in ride quality - I like them.

I just assumed they are a factory option. The center caps are black plastic.
I too have the original Pilots for the moment.
The sidewall rubs on the S4 lower body panel, inside the fender. Left side only. The rears are fine.
The 40 profile might also be a bit too massive looking? The rears are stunning to look at, though. Especially in black.
I am considering going one size slimmer, front and rear, to fit Continental DWS, 225/40, and 255/40. (It rains a lot here.)

Bought the bullet and bought some Dancing With the Stars.
225/40 on 8" and 255/40 on 9" look and fit like they belong there.
Even without having been worn in at all, the grip is LSD worthy in the rain.
Steering feel and tracking is much improved, and NO rubbing at any wheel angle!
Pic updated, above.
The old, worn, too big, Pilot Sports were way past their prime. They would spin on dry pavement.
