Default Venezia Blau paint codes

OK, I see the paint codes for Venetian Blue (1988) are 36P and 35U.

Why are there two codes? I want to get some touch-up from Wally's site, but I don't know what I should do with this information.

It won't match. You are better off providing paint example from your car. I have an 87, same color as well. I think i purchased a 36p paint. Of course, my car is not pristine, but sun does fade cars. Its a good starting point though

Just my 2 cents

Well, by coincidence I got slight damage to my rear bumper today, so I will be probably having that repainted soon and can get touch-up paint that way. I find that a good approach to incidental damage is to wait until there is a significant enough incident to do an insurance claim and then do some extra stuff at that time. I find myself getting bumped into every 2-3 years.

When I painted my '85 four years ago, I painted it veneziablau. I ran into this same dilemma. There are two different colors that have this name. I can't recall the exact details, but what I can tell you is that I bought a pint of 36P from the duPont supplier and almost a gallon from the Glasurit supplier and they were very different colors. The reason I bought the DuPont is because I figured the best way to make a decision on the color was to spray a fender to actually see how it looked on the car. The stuff from DuPont was much more blue whereas the Glasurit seemed to have some gray in it. If you look through enough pictures you'll see some that are very blue, almost like marine blue, and others that seem to be a bit muted with some gray thrown in.
