there is no need to insult what someone has done to their vehicle just because you dont like or no better. My age is irrelevant, but I served one tour is Iraq and one in Afghanistan back to back and am younger than 35.
I do not go around insulting people through smart *** remarks.

BTW if friends knock each other, then they are not really friends. If this site condones insulting people then it is not a site I want to belong to.

I don't think it annoys people. Do what you like and ignore some comments if needed, use the ignore list.

Thanks Aryan, I went for a bike ride and am now mellow...my so called "tough guy" talk means nothing online and should not be used by me seeing as I really cannot do anything from Miami FL. But insulting people should not be used either just because you think you are better or smarter...there is always someone smarter/tougher, better/stronger out there...
I was just suprised I was able to do all that I did in less than a month...and wanted to share.

thanks ender928....I sent white* a PM apologizing for my comments. I still have my leatherneck attitude : ),
Whatever people think of the military or the wars...we the troops (99% of the Marines/Navy) I dealt with never wanted to hurt anyone much less kill and dont like war. But after time in the field (months/years) it begins to become second nature and it is amazing but when I returned home it was alien to me. I even turned down my rotations to stay because I did not know what I was going to do back here in the US.

I am glad that you calmed down. And it is your car, do what you like with it.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Barry is a good guy and he has mods on his car not everyone probably likes. But this is a very clicky group if you havent noticed.
If someone says what you have done is crap, ignore them. Its the best approach. Continue to post and share what you do to your car as some will always enjoy seeing the drama persue (que SeanR in 1....2.....3..... *****!). But your attitude above did scream 20 year old punk kid with having learnt how to fight in the military, and thinking that violence can solve everything.
Instead why not apologise to Barry, and if you ever do meet him in person, buy him a beer and talk about the differences. You may just find that you will learn a HELL of a lot in life by doing this. Take the high road at all times, and enjoy the differences and opinions of others. Try to see life through their eyes. Seeing as how you have spent time in those sand dunes, you should realise this more than most. Unless you just kept to yourself and did not try to understand the local culture of course.

Don't sweat the comments on what you have done to your car. I made changes to mine too that some would not agree with.

So, you aren't in the Marines any longer? I'm not trying to take anything away from you, just confused. I think that the Marine mentality is really funny though. No matter what a Marine was (Mechanic, Commo, Infantry) they all have the same "Once a Marine, always a Marine" thing going on. Even guys that came over to the Army.
On another note, do what you want with your car man. Most people here say what they think with complete disregard to how the OP might react. I would say that 99% wouldn't do it in person without sounding like they were "joking".

Got the PM... just a knee jerk reaction on 0318's part (or is it a jerk's knee reaction? ) Just playin'... it's all good (did you read my sig?)
As Colin said, I've taken flack on some of the mods to my car as well... and plenty of compliments! The resto crowd doesn't like my body kit... the purists don't like that fake GTS strip on the back... most don't even know the car used to be Cassis Red Metallic (prior to me, painted white). That color is rare and most would think I would be better served to return it as such.
Here is what my rear bumper used to look like (some very vocal folks failed to see the humor in my HEMI & 4MATIC badges... despite the engine looking like a HEMI and the tranny is a Mercedes Benz 4-speed autoMATIC):
