Right..."sounds like a vette now or street hotrod...sweet" ....or a beat up old 71 ford truck that the muffler has rusted half off. But all that matters is that YOU like it...so enjoy. Over the years I have seen many things done to 928s so you are not the first or the last.

Did the PO install a stick on reflector to mimic the GTS or is that an actual GTS rear bumper cover? First thing I think when I see that without the addition of rear flares and aero mirrors is that the car was rear ended at some point. My understanding is that new S4 style rear covers are NLA. Did you do a Carfax prior to purchase?

Leave the Turbo badge on and just add a twin turbo system: http://www.kuhnperformance.com/products.php

.....and I am being dead serious about that.

BTW, your car does look nice. Next time you spray the calipers, paint over the PORSCHE lettering then sand off the raised surfaces of the lettering after the paint dries.

Anyone else notice the overspray on the brake disc 180 degrees from the "repainted" caliper. Appears they were sprayed while on the car ......and brake line/bolts all got rattle canned. But it got done quickly.

You know I weighed the exess ressonators and cats and stock exhaust and they were around 80lbs or so...the current exhaust I could hold with one hand end to end...so far I have felt no performance loss or increase. I did notice that the car runs smoother (not dure why) which is cool.

I times myself 0-60 before and after the exhaust swap and I dont see any significant difference either way...both were around 6.5 or so seconds...

I have an 88 auto...

These cars are not great 0-60 cars unless forced inducted or stroked. They are very good at 75mph plus.

Yes, next time remove them and properly tape over the exposed lines and other parts. The details are what make the job nice, not just the fact they have been sprayed a different color.

The Momo shifter **** is nice, but check into Paul Champagne's leather shifter boots (in black). They are made to fit the 928 auto shifter and will look much nicer than the generic one you have installed. http://www.designpaulchampagne.com/928Shifter.html

Ran one of the numbers (2.5) and the "surface areas" are just plain ole' areas. The comment about boundary layers is relevant. The diameter (which influences surface drag) depends on circumference, which isn't a "squared" term, so it goes up more slowly than area, which IS squared. There is more to this as speed and turbulence caused by a large diameter and low velocity can be an issue. When in doubt look at what the Japanese do with bikes, allow for legal and space restrictions the bikes face, go to school on them. Of course they are 4 bangers and rev higher, but the principles they follow are sound (!).

Thanks as usual for pointing out my flaws, please remember some of us have never done theses things before and are learning as we go. Does a level of excitement kick in and you might rush something a little YES...but it is not intentional just to get it done quickly.

As I re-do things or do new things to the car I will learn the better way to do things and take a little more time...

Example: It took me 2 hours to install a new Clarion VZ401 7" single din stereo receiver (because of all the room available in the console (hahahaha)...

1 hour - I lifted the carpet and ran RCA wire for a Kicker 12" sub, a auto on/off wire from the receiver to the trunk.

3 hours - Then bought a pre-fabed box (glued it together), intsalled the 12 inch kicker CVR (nice speaker 150$ alone), mounted a 250watt mono kicker amp to make it look nice and run 8 gauge positives to the battery and black (-) to the grounding strap...and oh god does the music sound awesome....not to mention replaced all factory speakers with kicker.

Here is the pic (taken before I cleaned up the wiring, so no comments please) ...I will add a pic of the Clarion receiver later if anyone cares...

Coldbeer839, thanks I think I will leave it on and cruise at 65mph in the slow lane and when other porsche
s or ferraris...rice rocket cars etc...come to goat me into racing I will just smile, drop it to third and let them listen to the engine breaking rumble from the exhaust... : ) and then just keep cruising...!

Oh another photo of some porsche logo's I added to the side of the car, if you dont like be nice about your disapproval and realize everyone has different likes, if not I will hunt you down... : ) I know kinda a ferrari knock off...

Try to stay off eBay when looking for things to add... unless absolutely necessary. Just because an auction will have "(Fits Porsche 928 S4)" in the list description does not make it so... it is just a marketing ploy. Ferrari details should stay with them... do you really think people don't know it's a Porsche? (hood crest; 4 wheel center crests; P-O-R-S-C-H-E letters on rear bumper)

Also, the way you have your subwoofer box may cause trouble for you later... under the carpet on the left side of the hatch is only a thin plastic spare tire cover. Too much weight on that will cause it to collapse. AND, drilling into the right side hatch floor might/will puncture your gas tank.

But on the brighter side, the way you are going... that 3" single exhaust will make it easier to attach that supah racey fart can muffler! I see a fake burnt titanium exhaust tip in your future...

there is no need to insult what someone has done to their vehicle just because you dont like or no better. My age is irrelevant, but I served one tour is Iraq and one in Afghanistan back to back and am younger than 35.

I do not go around insulting people through smart *** remarks.
