I have the synthetic VR1, Autozone was getting rid of their stock last summer. Got it for $4.50 a quart, have over 30 quarts.
Running it in my non race 928, besides not having a detergent added is there any harm using the racing oil?

They are saying the link expired, no longer available

I am of the opinion that their oil sucks, but maybe their racing oil is better.

I guess i am really behind the time, but i just noticed (or told) the zinc levels has been reduced.
My mechanic friend was complaining to me about all of the oil brand's are not holding up to their weight levels and now the zinc problems.
He was demonstrating a S-weight 50 Valvoline, in 30 degree temp. The viscosity should have been really THICK, but it was not.
Is it true we can only get the good oil at a racing shop? Walmart and other stores will only sell the (zero) or low grade zinc products.
I heard from another racing shop, who does chevy's race cars, they are using straight weight and a mixture of a lucas product. Reason, race engine failures since the zinc removal.
I guess Brad Penns is the way to go? I was doing a search for his product in INDY.
Thoughts?
