I just ordered a set of Conti DW's in time for SITM. I hope they perform as well as they're rated. I'm not easy on the tires...

50 offset fronts on an 8" wheel. You will have to go with a 225 tire on the front or they will rub.

I have the Bridgestone 760's and I like them. They wear well too. My car is a bit hard on rear tires.

Just bought Michelin PS2s. Expensive, but a lot less road noise than the Pirellis made. The old fronts had lots of tread, but were cracking from age (need to drive more); the rears were spinning a lot on wet pavement (need to drive more).

Interesting note, the Pirellis said "Made in Germany" on them. Never assume.

I have the kuhmo tires 225/45 and 275/40 on both the '81 and '86.5 (twist wheels 7" 50et, and 9" 55et) Cosmo is correct with the 8" rim 225 is most you would want. Also have a set that is 8.5" front and 9" rear with same set. The fronts look a bit 'pinched' with 225, but when I got them they had 235 tires. I tried them on the '86.5 and they were a bit too close to the fender for my comfort (if compressed the rubber would hit) so bought 225.

These (my) cars are also not driven terribly hard and I like the kuhmo very much. The pattern gives a quieter ride than tires with 'v' shaped pattern.

Not to hijack thread, but the wheels I have are 996 362 128.00 and 996 362 126.05, anyone know what they were from?

What is better - 255 or 275 for the back? I think I'll go with Conti's. Is there a big difference between DW and DWS? I know DWS is all weather tire, but how does it stock up in terms of perfomance to DW?

Thanks!

My car had 275 P7 on it when the torque broke on way to the dyno. Can not go any wider without rolling the car's fenders
