Default 928 Estate in the press (kinda)

http://yos.pca.org/El%20Portal/may%202011.pdf

I was talking with our local PCA President shortly after my race win at Thunderhill in early March....he loved the story behind the car and how it was built on an extremely modest budget......so he asked me to write a brief story about how I progressed from trackdays into real wheel to wheel racing.....

I starts on page 10....but the pic is on the cover!

buy , beg, borrow a set of those larger rims. dump the pinner tires and wheels. that car looks pretty mean , as do most 928s with the large shoes on!

thanks guys.....I am TRYING to save the $$$$ to get a real set of 18" race wheels-tires.....its frustrating...especially since I think I am finally "on top" of the car...meaning I think I have finally found the "limit" of my current setup....after settting a personal best in the morning on the 225/50-16 front and 245/45-16 rear hoosiers and watching lap times continually drop as temps rose, along with the "feel" of loss of grip...it makes me realize that I need MORE GRIP....especially in front....the rear always seems plenty planted....

Its a total dilemma....I can spend $$$ to run the car as is.....or save to get better equipment......

Remember any press is good press ! At least you did not have to PAY to publish it ! Run your car as is track time is the key to this game.....

True!

as far as the tires go, you are at the level where you wont improve anymore with a car that is "hamstrung" with the pinner tires. you will be able to take it (car and driver) to another level with the proper sized tires for car.

I agree..... I don't think a "new" set of 245/45-16 will help either....it might be slightly better...say 1 second tops for a tire in its "best" performance range...

Time to "go big"....
