Well, the light comes on only if i gun it but goes off and stays off if i turn off the car then restart it. I had the belt replaced about 3 years ago at the dealer and have driven little since then. Never took it back for a check since i have been out of the country

Macfly,
Sounds like your belt warning system is functioning properly and doing what it's supposed to do: give you the heads up that your belt needs attention. Martin's advice is good advice. You should schedule a diagnosis a.s.a.p. A tensioning may be all it needs, but you'll have the opportunity to check for any abnormal belt wear, component issues, etc. You should take a look at your tensioner while your in there.
There are many helpful threads on this forum that cover this exact issue. Wrench experience or not, you'll be best served to educate yourself about your system. It's really the first step of owning a 85+ 928: know its Achillies Heel. There are very few (if any) local mechanics who are as well versed on these cars as some on this forum, so it's a great place to learn.
Getting back on topic:
Wrench parties like this are an excellent places to learn about your car. You have questions that many can answer...in detail. Whether your car makes it there or not, you'll have the opportunity to learn what makes it tick. Keep us posted on this thread if you plan on making the trip.

I don't want to thread jack, but I am getting a ppi on a 928s4 in fl this week. I am in dc and just thought I would throw out that I am looking to buy in the next week or two if someone wanted to email or pm me another option. I would loveto buy from a local enthusiast.

I may be able to attend, I need to check the date with the wife first. But I am close to Culpeper so the drive would be fun and relatively close. I met Fraggle at SITM, so it would be great to meet some more of you guys/gals. Hopefully some will bring a 16v like mine, but regardless it sounds like fun.
I will confirm in a few days and whether or not I will bring a guest.
For some reason I do not seem to have a signature option on my profile. Will have to check into that.

Burning Brakes
[QUOTE=Bulvot;8692233]I've updated the list of expected attendees below. It sounds like no one is bringing guests? If that changes, no problem. My wife would be happy to entertain significant others and kids are definitely welcome as well!
Turns out the winery I had picked out doesn't serve enough main course fare to make a good dinner, so we'll be going to another local gem a little further down the street. Lunch will be burgers, dogs and complimentary sides. Attire for dinner will be business casual.
Anyone need any special accommodations? Did everyone receive directions? If you need to ship parts directly to my place, feel free to do so. If we need to run out for fluids or parts on the 16th, we can use one of my other vehicles.
I would need some info on local accommodations and such.
Is there anything in particular you want folks to bring food wise for the cookout?
I'll mention it to the wife unit. She may be playing grandma that weekend. If not I'm sure she would like to come up.
