The wife brought the new grandson home for the weekend , so much of it was well spent enjoying the little guy and getting the obligatory photo with the Easter Bunny.
The wife drove him back on Sunday and I stayed home to "Work on stuff", while "Working on stuff", my baby like the temptress she is, called to me wanting me to go for a ride. What will it hurt? I'll just take a little spin. After all, I wanted to see if the A/C worked . Perfect day to try as the temp was a balmy 90+ here yesterday. I also had the tires rebalanced recently because of some serious vibrations over 85 MPH and wanted to check that out as well.
I set out an a route that has many exits and some nice long stretches to check the tire balance.
I turned on the front and rear units "Very loud" and they both seemed to cool , at least enough to roll up the windows in the black on black car and feel comfortable. Tangent "The history of the car puts it in Alaska and Seattle for most of its life. I don't have any record of A/C maintenance and the belt was off when I bought it until a recent timing belt change. I checked the the compressor pulley a while back and it wasn't seized. End Tangent.
I made it to my route and the car is purring like a kitten. I drop to third and I'm off no hesitation. She was pulling like she had unlimited power
. I looked down and was at a buck thirty and no vibration. I did several runs like this and stopped while I was ahead.
What cars we have WOW!
I may have to move to Europe.

Sounds like a fun trip. Glad you are getting it sorted out. I also have my grandson until this next Saturday. Hope to see you next month. I have found a parts car '89 s4' that has everything I need to put the white car back together. I hope it works out...
See ya,
