How about:
Audi Ur-Quattro
Pantera GT5-S
Lamborghini Jalpa (or Countach)
Camaro IROC-Z28
Testarossa (or Mondial, or 328 GTS or F40
) or a 412 if a back seat is a requirement.
Porsche 959
There were a lot of interesting choices at the time.

Ordered a two tone white over silver 87 Corvette with most options. List price was approx $ 33,000, and I paid $ 26,600. An old friend bought it from me in 1992 and still has it in his garage with only 58,000 miles. A new 928 S4 was a little out of my price range at that time. T

I worked on them. The biggest problem was the oil leaks from all the boost.
Left old mills GM dealership for a test drive and waiting for a spot in traffic.
When I saw a spot i jumped on it to hard and she went straight side ways across 2 lanes and lined up for the 401 ramp. he he what a run I had.
It was not slow.
The big thing with it was that it was the first time GM used a V-6 with that kind of turbo boost and surprised even themselves

I'm still in love with Buick Turbos.
I'm always eyeing a few GNs and GNXs, still haven't pulled the trigger due to parking space limitations. Primarily I look for unmodified GNs which are exceedingly rare.
We all have our loves and lust for other makes and models. One of mine just happen to be Buicks.

I knew someone once who had a lot of really, really special cars. A Maserati Quatroporte Series III, A Ferrari Daytona Coupe, A Ferrari Testarossa. He had tons of Ferrari's over the years.
Regardless, he had *** 4 *** of these Grand Nationals and I had the pleasure of experiencing a short, albeit unforgettable blast in one of them. One was heavily worked even, and made the factory ones look anemic in comparison.
I can't imagine an uglier dashboard, and at first was hard for me to comprehend considering his tastes in his other cars. After that ride, I understood. lol
This car, once, was an INCREDIBLE bang for the buck, at least as far as short straight-line driving was concerned...
As I recall, he felt that they had discontinued them after such a short run as Buick had switched the next model year over to front wheel drive, so they had to drop this beast... :-(
It still think they're ugly, but, DAM - these things move. On the other hand, I really appreciate the lines of Citroens, so what do I know?
