Kickdown Cable Seal?

We're working on an 88 S4 Auto. Should there be an O-ring or seal of some type on the transmission end of the kickdown cable? The cable plugs into the trans and latches into place as it should but it seems like a pretty sloppy fit and we've got fluid leaking out around the connector. It doesn't look like there is anything there to stop it.

Ah Ha!
That looks more like it. I knew something had to be missing.
I couldn't find it in the WSM or PET. I spent a half hour searching through all the kickdown posts and never thought to use the term Bowden.

There's an oring seal. I got mine at my local MB dealer. I think he just matched me up one from his Wurth assortment. PO had used oring ina tube & it was leaking.
