I am replacing the carpet in my '89 S4 with new from Rob (Palamino velour, WOOT!)...
So... thought would see if anyone in the DFW area would like my old carpet... it is in very good condition, normal wear for a car with 39k miles. A few minor stains. Had a small, ask Sean to confirm if you want, leak in the drivers footwell clutch master cylinder, not much got on carpet but some nonetheless.
New carpet should be here in about 10-14 days or so according to Rod at
www.928leather.com
Here are some pics of the carpet as it is now..
Figuring $100 for it and it is yours... Am open to trade for wrenching help 05/01/2011 when do motor mount replacement..
And heck, I will even be providing pizza, beer, etc.!

If I needed that color, I'd be all over it.
Box it up, someone is going to buy it.

If only it were brown/black! I can use the foam under carpet backing pads though! If you want to separate that I'll take it. I don't have any at all on the drivers side. I'd pay shipping.

I would be interested in changing my carpet to tan from black. Can anyone verify that you can reuse the carpet?

You can wash the removed carpet in your washing machine with normal laundry detergent, and get it looking clean as new. This restores the pile better than any other method I've found, for sure betyter than any clean-in-place process that involves anything other than water. Treat any 'stains' as you would normal clothing stains, keeping in mind that the carpet does not actually absorb anything into the fibers. Avoid hard brushing as this will break the fibers. The only thing that this kind of cleaning won't cure is wear. Back to the washing machine-- You'll want to carefully lay the carpet pieces face out on the drum when it spins, so you don't crease the backing accidentally. A couple rinses will get the detergent out so the cleaned rugs won't be a "dirt magnet" again. The more you get out the better the look will be when done. Care in installation include NO STRETCHING when you fit things back with glue.
$100 is a great deal.

Thanks for the link for the carpet and also thank you Dr Bob for the tip. I am in the middle of this process now. I am just removing mine so the car can be painted. I will definately wash it to see if it is reusable. I sure hope so cause I want to spend the $$$ on the engine.
