1988 928 left side shock or spring sagging lower than the right side...

For front tires, the 1" gap side would be "normal". The side where the tire is even with the fender is too low. You need to take the wheel off that side and look at the shock and see where the adjuster is. Make sure it on the threaded collar and turn it upward (which on the left side would be pulling toward the rear from the outside) at least 1/2 inch and see if that evens things out.

Now, this is assuming the car has "settled", as others have been noting. I'm not sure why this would have changed suddenly if the sides were even until recently. It would help to get the whole front end up and remove both wheels so you can compare the two sides in terms of the adjusters. They may have been near the bottom of the adjustment (seen with Bilstein shocks), and the adjuster can back off and the lower spring perch has been known to deform and drop past the threaded collar in a few cases. I suppose it's possible a spring broke too. Anyway, removing the front wheels to have a look will probably expose the cause. The lowered side should be interesting.

Ok I dove it around today and after an hour noticed it was normal now....so it much have just needed settling. Whoooww....no need to spend money...!
