Does anyone have a photo of how the center bracket for the rear bumper cover is supposed to attach up top? Mine is missing the nut/bolt and is loose but I need to know if the bracket goes over the part it bolts to or under it.
Thanks folks. Also, de quelle size is it? 10mm, 13? Odd that it's missing but there's no damage up there. Maybe it just fell out.

Thanks MrMerlin,
The rear bumper cover needs to be pushed down to be flush with the rear bumper rubber.

And the bracket that does that is not attached to the aluminum bumper.

But it seems that in order to get the bumper cover in the right location, I have to force the bracket to attach at the BOTTOM of the aluminum bumper vs. its present location.
Is there a different solution?

The bracket goes on the top of the aluminum beam as pictured. IIRC its held in place with a sheet metal screw. All it does is keep the bottom of the bumper cap straight, I don't believe it will push it out to make the bumperette flush, but I've been wrong before.

have you had any rear end damage IE could the rear bumper shocks be pushed in,
if so this might explain your clearance issues,
if your not sure then measure mount portion of the shock to the bolt hole center and post results you may find your bumper shocks have been compressed and they are one use only .
This type of damage will also occur if the car has been pushed by another car

Thanks, will check on that. It did occur to me but was just too afraid to look. Not a big deal to replace a bumper shock, though...(he said...not realizing what he was thinking). Since the right bumperette was slightly misshapen (hardly noticeable) this is the most likely possibility. Thanks again.
