Finally,
It was the car park where the dealer had kept it for the last year because there was no room next to all the new Rollers and Lambo's in his showroom (there are lots of very high end cars out here and not many people are interested in older cars) so it just got stored there.
I have been lurking on here and looking for one for a while (not that many about in Dubai) and a local RL'er out here pointed me in the direction of this one.
Obviously i had read all the advice on these boards about how to go about buying one and educated myself as to what to look for and when the time came i totally ignored all of it and handed over the cash.
Couldn't help myself, it's a purple V8 porsche .
The whole interior is leather, dash, pod, the lot and apparently the car is ex Saudi royal family but I don't know how to prove that just yet.
As i said, it is away at a shop getting CB/WP, suspension, hoses, leads, fuel lines, brakes, tyres etc, etc at the moment (i do listen occassionally) which will take a couple of months as we have to order all the parts from outside the country but it will be a keeper once i get it back.
I am sure my journey is just beginning but then isn't that what it's all about.
The Mustang was a 68 from the same dealer.

Cool story! Would love to visit Dubai too!

Awesome GTS find.
I am going to leave this color up for a few more days, and then decide what comes next... I may do individual colors (many were lumped into groups) and make it "928 color of the week" and keep the thread going for a while.

I think mine is quite an unusual colour!
The pics are from where i found it in a dusty car park and then being delivered a few weeks later so forgive the fact that it's not clean but these are the only ones i have at present. it is currently at a shop being bought back to life.
I'm not sure of the "real" name for it but it seems to fit "purple" quite well.
I like it anyway (go easy, it's my first post).

Could very well be the coolest 928 EVER!!!! Simply awesome!! I LOVE the color combo! More pics please.
The story, the car and you deserve it's own thread?

Ispeed: I think this thread is awesome and that leaving the color up for a week is the way to go as many of us are not on RL all day, every day (un-like Hacker) and have jobs (un-like Hacker) and families (un-like Hacker)........etc., you get the point and now I probably have to deal with Hacker over this post.

Thank you, I hope so but time will tell.
Fantastic reply and many thanks indeed (your car doesn't look too shabby either . )
The main reason it "could be the coolest 928 EVER" is simply because it is my first and you always remember your first so they say
Not really brave enough to start my own thread just yet, still at the quiet lurking stage but when I get it back from the mechanical overhaul I am sure I will have more than a few questions regarding electrics and interiors etc that I will need help with from the people here.
Thanks and let me know if you make it as there are some cool things to do and see here and some great roads once off the beaten track.
I am not sure what the colour is at the moment but will try and get the paint code next week after the TB/WP work has been done. I have searched but can't find any pictures of other purple shades to know or compare the difference (anyone?).
The interior needs a good clean up and pro detailing and should then be Ok and the centre console needs to come out and be tidied up but should look good once finished.
Long way to go just yet.
I have included a couple more pictures of the dusty state it was in when i found it as they are all I have at present but I will post back once I get it all cleaned up eventually.
Thanks for all the kind words.

On the inside door jam on the driver's side, just below the door latch striker... should be 2 or 3 factory decals. 1 of those should state the color and code number for that color. Hopefully, it is still there!
Beautiful GTS!

Gruen pearl
RKD, you have WAY TO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS BRO! That is a whole bunch of photo-chopping there man!
Ad, the Pearlglaz I was asking about is a pearl color and was the color of the VERY LAST US GTS. Though it should have been posted with the greens I missed out and no one else posted it so, I'll post it now along with as many of my blues as I can post...

The colourcode of Gruen pearl is 24H according to my local paintshop. It is a 95 - 97 colour for Porsche. I saw the recipy for RM paints. I could have it madeina spray can, excluding the clear topcoat of course.
