Default What is this???

86.5 with Manual Transmission: Found an interesting part and wondered what it does or is supposed to do???

Took off airfilter housing and found this part (looks like a regulator of some sort) on the passenger side, below the intake manifold and the coolant resivoir, with a (disconnected) black hose & broken off sensor lead (I think) on top and a blue hose coming off the side/bottom & leading forward... The black hose angles back & up towards the passenger compartment that is not connected to anything - whatever it was its long gone...??? Sorry, cant seem to upload any pics... %$#@! computer....

Once I figure out what it is then I can figure out what to do with it... Any help is greatly appreciated.

You might be looking at the coolant pressure sensor. The better informed will check in soon, I'm simply tying the goat to the tree...

No... I looked again. It looks like pot metal and the black hose apparently connects to the bottom of the air filter housing.

Air injection diverter valve.

Upper hose connects to the bottom of the airbox inlet. Blue (silicone) hose goes to the air pump. Small hose goes to the throttle body.

Pumped air is diverted to airbox at WOT to keep the cats from overheating.

Thanks Ken... Its apparently not causing the heating issue, but its nice to know what its supposed to be doing... Probably going to remove along with the air pump delete during my TB/WP replace. The cats will come off as soon as I save enough for a proper X-pipe (damn things are pricey).

Thanks again!
