Problem with 8" ET50 is that they can't take 245 tires without fender rolling. Extra .5" is basically useless addition compared to 7.5" wide wheels. With correct ET wheels 245 would work just fine. On ET50 even 235 is too wide in some cases.

Too bad 18" Panamera sets have only 9" wide rears. Hopefully Porsche makes more designs for small engine Panameras.

Good point on the ET50 width - I had rubbing with 235's on the front on ET50. I'd forgotten as its been a while since I had those on a car.

For general street use, the 9" wide rears will do, as they'll comfortably hold a 265 wide tire.

Having said which, I have a set of Carrerra III's with the 18x11 rears for the car which is getting some engine tweaking

Winner!

Here's what those wheels look like on my car. You won't be disappointed. Get a set of coloured center caps and valve stem caps to complete the look.

Wheels came with the center caps. What valve stem caps are you talking about?

So I guess I have some Cup 2's for sale. I will take some pictures and get them up so everyone here can get first crack at them.

Here's some on eBay for even less:

They are also available in machined aluminum but those are around $25 each.

JP, Looks like you have the Black & silver thang going. I could Priority Ship you these for $ 20. Never used. That little black mark is on the outer package, not the cap itself. PM me if interested. T

So if you want to go wider than stock tires then 8" ET50 does not work, that is true enough...if you are comfortable sticking with what Porsche provided then they work fine. I might also add that on the CS wheel the 8" front also carried a 225 tire... Just saying.

Yea, I agree it is more advantageous to add front tire width, but those CLW's look SO GOOD I am more than willing to stick with a factory sized front tire to run those awesome wheels!

^^^ I am running 245 front and 275 rear on my CLWs.

Very nice balance and handling with no rubbing whatsoever.

Corner turn-in is greatly improved over a 225 front tire.

T, You have a PM

Looks like for the 82 it will be 225's then with the new one I will see if I can fit more rubber under there. I don't plan to have them on the 82 long just want to mount them up instead of having them sit in the garage.

Randy, the suspension (as you probably already know) is a bit different on the S and S4/GTS cars and you can put a wider tire under an S4/GTS w/o rubbing, but not under an OB or S... Well, not under mine anyway. I have the S4 and S sitting right next to each other and it was VERY OBVIOUS that the stock 7" front wheels were closer to the fender lip on the S vs. the S4... Most of the CLW's I have seen have been pictured on S4's or GTS's too so I was a bit concerned if they would fit PERIOD. They do and I really like them...would like them more if I could put 245's on but that just can't happen on the OB/S cars with that ET50 offset on an 8" wheel. Dang it!

Well ordered the Sumitomo HTR ZIII for the CLW's. I didn't want to go crazy on expensive rubber just in case. I'd rather cut a cheap tire then a PS2. They will be in on Friday so I should be able to mount them on the car this weekend.

Make sure they put the tape weights on the INSIDE of the wheel!

I saw the wheels you are selling. Any wheel tech who places tape weights on the outside of a custom wheel should be shot.
