my poor attempt at humour Chris......Canada being a huge part of North America does have a couple of Home Depots ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Another intake test you could do is shoot brake cleaner under the intake and listen for a change in idle speed and check the tail pipe.......with my split hose under the intake the car would idle higher and smooother and a white smoke poured from the exhaust......use inflammable brake cleaner and do the test outdoors for obvious health reasons

Fired the car up last night warm weather all day no rough running as lower speeds still has the feel of of down shifting whenever I remove foot from go pedal at 50 MPH and below. Today is wet and temp is supposed to drop. I'll make a run this evening. I'll start it up if its rough. I will stop it and dry the wires with a heat gun. Then start it up and see if that cures it.

Another warm day fired right up nor rough running up to 125 MPH. Took it out for about an hour purred like a kitten. I noticed Tom M. has the same issue and is sorting out the temp II as some have suggested I do.
My testing on cold/wet versus warm /wet is confusing. Is there a good read on the TEMP II and its purpose.

Glad to hear you are narrowing in on the problem
It sounds like condensation is bothering your car. You can keep that "bug" away by simply putting an automotive trouble light, with an incandescent light bulb, under the hood and close it up at night like that. The heat from the bulb is enough to keep the surrounding air temperature high enough to chase off any dew/condensation.
The other way is to replace your ignition wires with another set. I have Beru ignition wires on my car and here in Florida, I have never a problem with condensation.
Just a couple of ideas for you.
Joe

Temp II provides engine temperature info to both the EZK and the LH. if that signal is messed up then the brain doesn't respond properly. When my Temp II went bad the first time, it started OK..but if I shut off before it was totally warmed up..the car would not restart until it sat for over an hour.
I was measuring the resistance on the interior temp gauge yesterday, so those reading were wrong. When I checked the TempII this afternoon, it was giving me proper readings; however, the harness leading to the TempII was frayed and it seems there may be an issue with that. I'll replace the connector and see if that cures my problem. BTW..it was really wet yesterday and the first time the 928 had been out in the rain..I suspect the condensation/wet on the exposed wires made my problem really bad..
