In the mosaic ad I referred to earlier (Skymobile) it is a freaking snow globe world, pretty lady, bright sunshine, adorable kid in the passenger seat; yeah they are white, she brushes a nice, cooperative soft glove of snow off the car and awaaaaay they go. That is not the winter I know. And if you don't think they don't cast specifically, and spend hours at it, you are wearing rose colored glasses too.
You have got to be $hitting me
Well, if it makes one happy, the white kid didnt have blonde hair and blue eyes though.

1+ ^^^^ Steve's right. You've got to target your market. If they had a large section of thier market in a certain community or wanted to address that market then they would have added that in. They did not cover Asians, East Indians, Hispanics or others in the first video. It's not racist, just marketing to your target audiance. You also run the risk of also not reaching those potential untapped markets.

Actually they probably made multiple versions of the "school bus" ad with actors of every demographic they think they can sell to. Go to Atlanta or "DC" and you may see the same ad with a different cast.

I agree 100% with that also. I don't think it is even remotely racist , i made the comment because I just thought it was funny that someone had to make such a BS politically correct statement about a car commercial. That, among a list of other things, is exactly whats wrong with this country ...to many feelers get hurt and before ya knwo it someone is suing over it. Bottom line is, as you mentioned, Porsche has a target market..they have demographics on all the cars they sell and who buys them and target accordingly.
Hey..maybe the black kid isnt a friend but rather a sibling, perhaps he was adopted and gets a ride like that from school all the time??? !

Tony: I don't know why you have to ask for a break? And no one is ****ting you either. I think Nicole's comment is right on. As depicted, the black kid's appearance seems awkward and gratuitous. I don't mean to speak for her, but it is a comment about the content and the makers of the ad and nothing more. The kid is there to appeal to another demo, but at a really sub level. The fault in this kind of narrative is in going only half way. They could have shown a black Boxter owner stashing his gold clubs and heading off to the Masters. Ahh, but wait, didn't they only recently start admitting Blacks to that course? Seems that wouldn't ring true either.
