Default 928 GT/S4 used Engine parts for sale

Hello everyone

I have some engine parts for sale from a 90 GT and S4 short block I used for my 88 engine rebuilt, I will describe them to the best of my knowledge and will post more detailed pics if requested. When you receive your part after purchase and do not like it, simply return it with shipping at your cost and I will refund your money in full, including the shipping. Please read the descriptions carefully before deciding to buy. If I said "shipped" next to the price, that means shipping and handling is included in the asking price.

1. One set of complete 3R heads that will need work, same heads used on the GT cars and later model S4 cars, $1000 shipped
2. One 87+ oil pump, small scuff mark on the surface where the gear seats, other wise in great shape, $120 shipping separate
3. 90 GT crank, $280, shipping separate
4. 85+ cam gears, $200 for the pair, shipping separate. Sold, Thanks
5. Steel oil pump gear, $50 shipped Sold
6. 88 S4 group 1 piston set with pins, $199, shipping separate SOLD
7. seven 90 GT rods, $180, shipping separate

1. The heads came of a car that I believe suffered from a head gasket failure due to improper installation by someone. They were not resurfaced and used scotch bright to clean the surface before the new head gaskets. As you will see on the pics some of the intake valves are rusted and some of them are slightly open due to debris being stuck between the seat and valve. As you can see from the pics the person did not do a good job shipping them to me and they got damaged. some nuts and bolts were left in the package and did some damage to the valve cover sealing surface, damage is not enough to cause an oil leak. Also a chunk of where the cam seal seats has broken off, I talked to a machine shop and they said its repairable. The cam caps were shipped to me separably and are in great shape. Cam cap bolts do not come with purchase as I do not have them. The sealing surface for the head gasket is in very good shape with only 2 small corrosion marks on one of them that should be a non issue if you decide not to fix them, I have seen worse on every other S4 heads.

2. The oil pump came from an 88 S4 engine with 94,000 miles on it. Its in very good shape but it has a very minor scuff mark on the shaft as shown on the pictures below.

3. The crank came from a 90 GT short block I purchased last year. The engine had a # 6 bearing failure but the crank did not get damaged, engine was still running before it got pulled, so it was not seized. The bearing was showing copper and was still thick. It did leave some discolored marks on the crank, but I could not feel anything with my nail, surface felt smooth except the discoloration left from the bearing, so I took it to my machine shop and asked them to polish it and measure it to see if its reusable, and it checked out great, picture of measurements is posted and they are from all the rod journals, factory specs are 51.971-51.990mm. Unfortunately its been standing in the garage for a while and some very light corrosion is showing up on some of the polished surfaces. The nose where the crank gear and pulleys go have some very minor scuff marks left on it, which I believe were left by a screw driver from someone trying to remove the crank gear or the balancer before I got it. If you are interested in the crank I will have it lightly polished again before I ship it out to you. This would make a good crank for the cheaper Glyco bearings, since its the smallest crank out of the 3 different sizes made from factory.

5. The oil pump gear is in good shape, a small tiny dent on one of the tooth as shown on pic #4 of the gear, some corrosion from seating, other wise its in good shape, came from a 88 short block I bought in early 2009.

6. The pistons have been cleaned carefully using BerryMan degreaser. They came from a late 88 engine, and I believe they are the 20 cc pistons vr. the earlier 87-88 models that came with a 25 cc piston, I can measure if your interested. Most of the coating on the skirts is still there. One of the pistons have small dent marks on the top as shown on the first 2 pics. These pistons were in a much more better shape than the GT pistons in terms of the factory coating, I end up using the GT pistons, because I wanted to keep the original pistons in the original bores.

7. The seven rods came from the 90 GT engine. I do have an extra one from a late 88 engine. When I did my rebuild, I used one of the rods from the GT engine because the original one was involved in a hydro locking accident that caused the cylinder wall to crack open when the engine was cold. I did take the rod to the machine shop and it checked out, but I decided not to use it since I had the GT set available. I will include this rod to make the set complete, price is for the seven rods.

Note:
These are all the parts I have, plus 2 oil pans and a set of rear 88 calipers that need work.

The sideway marks seen on the last pictures are from the camera lens.

Namasgt attempted to buy usuable parts from people in the past that were sometimes less than scrupulous in an attempt to get his '88 back on the road. He got burned, didn't enjoy the feeling and therefore would not sell anything without divulging every thing he knows about it. He is **** in a good way and has great attention to detail.
Unfortunately, he is going to sell his 928 and everything associated with it to go back to school. Since he is such an asset to the DFW group, hopefully, he will still hang around.
