Question Center Consol Micro switch

Working on my freind's dash/pod/consol project - he just had everything recovered in leather (beautiful job by Rob Budd), and we are re-assembling it all. It's an 86.5.

Anyway, when the center consol was recovered, Rob took everything off the back of it. We have the microswitch, but we can't figure out how or where it was previously mounted. Does anybody have a picture? It appears to mount somewhere near the vent itself, but I can't for the life of me see it. TIA.

This microswitch? In the center vent

I just happened to have the AC control head out of my 89

When the flap is *almost* closed the switch clicks.

Aha! Thank you Hilton. I knew it had something to do with that flap.

Btw - what is the actuator under the consol shown in your picture - the 86 does not have that.

Nevermind. It's the footwell, attached to the control unit (saw the pic in your other thread that I resurected earlier today)
