FWIW, I pulled a split ISV hose out of a '91 a couple of weeks ago. It was a year old.
So, I too have to wonder if there was a bad batch of those ISV hoses.
When I put the new one on I heated it up first, so that it was very pliable and then clamped it - but not too tight.

Thats what I did also......put the end in some hot water so it was very pliable, fitted it to the ISV, let it cool and clamped it.
BTW.....if you compare my pic w/Seans they both split in the same place....where was yours split Dave? I sent the split hose back to roger so he can 'discuss' w/Porsche.
