It didnt last 2 years.......I was posting of my cold idle issues last summer/fall.
Looking through my pic files it was end of March '09 when I was in there and the driving season here is short.....the hose failed in much less than 10k kms

wow. That is one catastrophic failure. I wonder if the heat caused the split. must have been a weakness there to begin with.

Wow, that sucks. That split is huge, as if the hose end was too small for the barb on the ICV.
Is the other blue line from one of those silicon sets with the questionable fittings? I've had a red set of them on my GT for a while but so far I think they're OK.

I remember questioning this at the time as its not clamped but the other are. IIRC some folks said that it was how the factory assembled the intake but it didnt make sense to me...still doesnt.
BTW its a Porsche hose.....not good for the confidence going forward. I'll read Dwaynes intake epic...see what he found.

Malcolm, that's "seepage". It's something you monitor. If it was truly a "leak", you'd be obligated to fix it. Consider that the seepage dramatically reduced the duty on the ISV. So it's net positive.

Thx Bob.....needed to smile
I just 'thumbed' through Dwaynes intake epic where clearly this hose is clamped at both ends as is the shorter ISV hose.....I'll order clamps with the new hose.
From Dwaynes garage:

It might be a good idea to put a clamp on the new one, just to reduce the stress on the seam a little bit. But maybe you were just unlucky to get a bad hose out of the batch.

Malcom's experience is very worrying.
When you buy a rubber part for your 928 from
a main dealer is there any way of knowing that it
hasn't been sitting on a shelf for twenty years.
