Your choices are unlimited...

With black, you will have a VERY noticable RED showing wherever it didn't get painted -unless as mentioned earlier, you strip the car down to almost a skeleton.

However, if there are any other shades of red that you are attracted to -that may be a better path. Think of non Guards reds like India Red and the transition won't be as readily apparent.

Check out 77Tony's thread on repainting his GTS for insight on the amount of work to change colors to something not even close to original...

That's part of the reason for the phrase "$10,000 away from a $5,000 car"... but it's still yours, so do what makes you happy.

[Caveat: mine was white when I bought it, but was originally Cassisrot Metallic (Cassis Red is more pinkish) -so I had no issues re-doing it as Pearl White]

Don't forget yellow wheels & trim to go with the John Deere Green!

Of course, a 'cow-catcher' bumper guard would be needed to run high speeds on those super straight country roads...

I would also PM Dean Fuller. There is a thread in regards to his paint job for his son. It is awsome. He also has a thread in regards to redoing the seats in his son's car. His seats came out great. I have a feeling that you could get him to do you some sweet seats for you and it wouldn't break the bank! Check it out!
