Awesome. Wonder if it's a 16 or 32V?

I would guess 16V...what would have been the point to have imported a 32V car? They were also very unusual to find outside the US...in particular in left hand drive I thought... Erkka will pipe up here in a bit to correct me...

Cool.. if its an 86 non-US car it has the later style suspension and brakes (all non-US 86's got the upgrade).

Looks like the front quarters were swapped with US ones, but the rear shows added non-stock markers, so it likely is a "Euro" and not a confused owner.

That´s the best of the breed!
Awesome sound, big brakes, and a really potent engine with a classical sports car trim.
This car like high rpm like a GT.

Ken,this is your new project car ! ;-)

I've only run across a couple 86 Euro models, but both were the low compression smog 32v. Guess is they were sold to unwitting tourists or servicemen (frequent prey for cheesy cars to bring home and sell from used lots near bases).

Hilton, the front quarters have are correct for the Euro. They've had the front corner markers added just like the rear corners.

This is a special car if in 16V trim. If it's in good shape for its age, this is a great buy!
I'd looked for Euro's for years, before and while I owned one... and I ran across two legit 16V '86 Euros - one was a 5 speed, the other AT.

This may be the "white whale" of the 928s.

I have a call into the seller to confirm engine and import paperwork (VIN).

WOW! Someone please buy this! This is super rare! It looks like a ZZZ but, not an 86.5, just an 86 (even better in my opinion).

16 or 32, I'd like to have it. Meteor grey/black=sweet.

All euro forward lights. Too bad about rear air. Can't tell if it has a sunroof.

This sentence makes no sense.

FWIW, all ROW '86 have the updated floor pan, dual exhaust, suspension/ABS 'upgrades', 4-piston calipers, et cetera, that USA ...1001+ cars do.

AFAIK, they don't have a third brake light, however. (TBL starts w/86.0 US, but illegal in Germany at the time.)

Talked to the owner.... 32V, so no "white whale" here.

Nice car none-the-less.

From the seller:

1986 928S Euro 5 Speed
It is a 1986 32valve 5 speed Euro M28/45 meteor gray metallic with black leather interior. It has been garaged kept and maintained by a local Porsche shop. Recent work (last 500miles) on the car includes:
• New Aluminum CR radiator
• New brakes front and rear
• New timing belt and water pump
• New steering rack and tie rods
• New motor mounts
• New starter motor

Work still needed be done on the car include:
• Replace bushings on upper control arm (I have the extra firm bushings needed)
• Replace AC compressor
• New paint
• New Tires
CONTACT INFO: Peter McGhee (Charleston, SC) 843-478-5938 or petermcghee@mindspring.com
I have no affiliation with seller or car.
