We're quite a crowd, aren't we!

One guy here wrote the excel wheel fitment calculator, specifically for our cars.

Others have done more research than some entire companies.

Some are still looking for decent rubber for 16" wheels.

If the first response ONCE was "yeah we can do that" to the set of specs and sizes belted out at the beginning I'll bet it would result in ONE set of wheels sold to someone! I sure liked the look of them, but alas, my tax return is already spoken for. Easiest sale Ever.

But that didn't happen, and tensions are running a little high.

So, can we get and idea if those wheels can be made, or are they outside the design limits, as some suggested?

Why don't vendors just post a pic of a 928 with their wheels on it, that would be the best selling point.
That would give me the perception that the vendor is at least investing the time to test fit some of their products, other than just "here's a pic, figure out if it might work for you"

Devils advocate here...

As many of you may have seen I went through many, many back and forth posts on wheel fitments and tire selection. In the end went with 10" rear, 65 offset Porsche Sport Classic II's. The calculator you refer to as well as numerous folks here all said with that size and the tire size selected (285/35/18) I would have inside rubbing unless I put on a spacer of between 10 and 20 mm. Got a set of 17mm Porsche spacers put on which made the outside edge rub on the fender. Took them off a couple days later, i.e. no spacer at all and they fit perfectly, no rubbing inside or out.

Reopening this one.

Now when looking at GMP Speedline wheels I see they offer an 18x8.5 with a 59 offset and an 18x11 with a 65 offset. I currently own a 94' GTS, wouldn't' these fit well? Even if I went with the 18x10 with a 54 offset it doesn't seem too different from factory and would most likely fit. Would the issue be that I need a small spacer on the hub or is it the other way around that they would be too far out and wouldn't fit within my wheel wells?

The OEM offset is front 65mm and rear 55mm. So, the rears would be almost perfect. Then fronts would be the issue... what would I need based on the questions above, spacer or would they be too far out?

Lastly, when the wheel get's wider let's say from 9" (factory) to 10" or 11" for the rear, would we still ideally need the 55mm offset or by making it wider would it essentially change that figure? I am thinking it would stay the same as the offset would be 54 for the 10" wide wheel (from GMP) and adding 1/2" to each side (minus the 1mm difference in offset) making it similar.

Is my thinking correct? I love these wheels, had them on my 87' 911 Turbo and want them on my GTS.. Any help is appreciated. I did some searching and found this thread. I'm hopeful I can figure this out and make a decision.

Thanks,
Bryan
PS. I'm happy to be back in the 928 community, I've missed my 91' S4 ever since I sold it.
