Unhappy Unknown connector on 1991 GT

Hallo,

I discovered a loose connector hanging under my steering wheel. It carries the number 026. I do not see any disconnected electrical component.

Does any of you have an idea what this is ?
My car is a 1991 GT equipped with Airbag.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

Harry

Several previous sightings (including my own car), never heard the explanation of what it is/was for. Does not seem to have any function, or place to connect.

Thanks for the feedback Rob ,

it seems I am not the only one raising the question. I will put it back where it was and leave it like that.

If it has a Mercedes logo it might be the connector for the kick down switch used in auto's.

Hallo Aryan,

I think you helped clarify my query.
The switch has effectively the Mercedes logo on it. I also located the switch on the wiring diagram, field B/C 86/87 on sheet 10, with the colours black/violet and green/brown, which seems to match. The mercedes origin of the automatic gearbox may explain the logo.

As my GT is a manual, there is no switch to connect

Thanks for the quick feedbacks.
