Default Project 88S4 Auto Dyno #s are in...

Started with:

$4000 purchase...couldnt pass smog within a million miles.
$3600 in gear from 928sRus for refresh and other "uh oh" crap
$350ish from 928Int on used axles and a # of other boxes of stuff needed

Passes smog really nice.

100% DIY with help from Bill Ball and Iceman here & there..

Has these mods:
Xpipe W cats
Car came with 89 exhaust (small resonators)
Car came with RMB

Result:

Im VERY happy for the $ and effort spent, and to the community here as well for helping.

On top of this, theres about $3k in 'pretty' added to the car that hasnt been required to get it running strong and reliably...such as wheels, tires, brake hardware, radio, and other this's and that's that go with the game...but not part of the "OMG FIX!!" or else list.

There's probly another $2k in...deferred housekeeping and such that need swept up in the car, but I'll get there. But..ive put off some critical flight training for too long, and the 928 goes on the back burner cash wise now for a few 2 or 3 months I think..now that I know I can reach for the keys any given day...and use it.

And some people question why I say most 928s need $10,000 worth of work.......but now you have a car that you KNOW.

Impressive! I should have went to dyno my car after I sorted things out. I guess I will do it next year after yet another exhaust system change.

*nod*

My next KU will be an exhaust change...dump the OEM dual for large single with a large 3 chamber muffler and maybe dual output.

But..that may be a # of months away...gotta get signed off on a Bonanza P35 in a hurry.

Yep... that looks about right. I always use 287 as my stock RWHP number.

BTW, did you happen to get the actual dyno file on a zip drive such that you could email it? Unfortunately, I don't have a baseline dyno run from my car when it was stock and would love to be able to use it to compare.

If you do, can you email me the file(s) at andrewmolson "AT" gmail.com? Thanks.

I'm doing the exact same thing with a single 3" exhaust, but using a Flowmaster 10 Series muffler, which is a single chamber.
