Default C & R Radiator FS 2 Cooler

Purchased this C & R Radiator New from Roger, installed it and thought I had enough Clearance between it and the SC intake box but I was wrong. I knew it was a tight fit but misjudged it.

After only 3 months the SC intake box had rubbed against the Rad. and finally caused it to leak. I uninstalled it and stuck it back in storage.

Just this week I took it to a Radiator Shop had it repaired and tested to 20 lbs. pressure and all appears to be OK. There were only 3 or 4 of the ridges you see in the repair that were actually leaking, but for insurance the guy patched all ridges that were rubbed thin.

I am posting pics of before the repair and after. Asking price 350.00 + shipping.

After Repair:

Front side of Rad.

David-

I ran into the same thing with Camboinc's SCer. We ground down the ring on the air box that slips onto the SCer and then instead of using a clamp (because now it was too narrow), we drilled a hole in the ring and tapped it to use a set screw. Worked fine until he blew his head gasket!

Good idea, thanks for sharing.

I did take a little off the ring, but still used the clamp and could just not gain the room I needed. Not using that clamp is key.
Thanks again.

Looks like I might be in the same boat.

So grind down the lip to about where a 1/3 inch? Then tap a set screw through whats left and into the Vortech casing.

I gather the idea is zero contact between the two... as in be able to slide a piece a paper up inbetween?

Hey AO... Did you happen to snap any photos of your work?
