trans install lessons

learned a whole lot about trans installs on my 87.had to take it in and out three times to get the clamp to line up with the groove on the shaft. finally got it in and running.needs a few adjustments but seems ok .

You mean the rear clamp? There's a spec for the position of the end of the shaft relative to the end of the tube. Set it and assemble the TT to the tranny before you install it. Next time.
