Default Euro intake on a US OB - any benefit?

I saw a Euro intake (spider, plenium) for sale. Just wondering what it would do for my US 79 OB. I'm running headers and a full stainless exhaust with Borla and custom cats. Is it worth the trouble?

BTW, As my car is now emissions exempt under historic plates what would swapping out my Cats for an X pipe do to my HP and power curve? I'm quite satisfied with how she runs now and the sound out the exhaust is perfect. So I don't want to get too much louder by deleting the cats....but....more power never hurts, right?

there is some good gains available, but you need the throttle body, which should be part of the set of runners and plennum. the plennum and runners are only part of the equation, as the throttle body goes from 2.7" to over 3.3". (huge diff) without it, probably not much gains and it will be tough to mount the euro plennum to the small throttle body with a rubber adapter, as there is a diameter issue. (its been done, but doesnt look right)

find the TB, and go for it. should be a good match with the 79 cams which are better than what we had in the Ljet US versions.

Thanks. Any guesstimate on HP gains if I go Euro runners and plenium plus TB?

If this is a Euro, not a Euro "S", I'd be surpised if you get gains.

Also, I wouldn't expect gains just putting the Euro S top end w/o the Euro S heads and cams.

has to be euro S runners and plennum or its the same as the US stuff
quick verification is the plennum opening is 3.3-3.5" diameter, while the runners are 1.5" vs 1.6 for the euro S stuff
