The ABS pump has been leaking for a bit and I want to finally tackle it and get it stopped. It is leaking from the bottom left plug (see picture). I there a good fix for this or do I have to get a replacement pump? $$$$$$.
Thanks,
Dan

I have seen this happen on one other car.
I had asked if anyone else had seen this, and the answer was no.
That said, the car in question was an 89, I had a good used pump off an 87. Physically they were the same with only slight differences in the wiring. I removed the wiring off the 89 and adapted it to the 87 pump. Worked like a charm.
That said, I did open up this port on the dead pump and found that these two bottom pieces are accumulators of sorts.
Inside there is a piston with an o-ring. It is possible to clean the bore, and piston of junk buildup and to then replace the o-ring. However you need to ensure that you get an o-ring which is compatible with the brake fluid in use.
When you do one of them, you need to do the second too. If you do not, I will almost ensure that it will begin to leak soon as well.

OK, sounds like the next project. I'll put it on the list and live with it a while longer. Do you or anyone know of a source of the "O" rings that work?
