S4 - tire brand suggestion
Hello,
I'm due for tire replacement. Daily driving. No track. No road race. Looking at sport/comfort and some sort of longevity.
Any advice on brands having 225/50 16 Front and 245/45 16 Rear (same brand front and rear)?
Thanks.

We have two sets of Bridgestone All Season 960 pole position tires.
Perfect tires for that kind of driving.
One set is 225/50 16.
The other car has S4 rears and the tire had to be slightly taller than spec due to size availability, but seemed to be within the calculated tolerance for antilock brakes to work. (I think 245/50 16) That's the only caution on using the rears. Several respected members disagreed, though, on the viability of that tire height.

I have no personal experience with these, but limited research on the web yields favorable reviews of the Toyo Proxes T1R, which come in the required 16" sizes. As always, YMMV.
Tirerack doesn't appear to carry Toyo, but Discount does. FWIW. Good Luck.

Budget might make up your mind. Fuzion ZRi's (parent company is Bridgestone)are great inexpensive tires (<$100 each) for rain or sun, not very noisy, but I've never driven them in the snow. You might go for something more expensive if you want more performance, though.
