Note that I just looked at the pics. I haven't read the thread, because I don't care about your problems with your '86.5 5-speed. As I've said before, your best option is to give the car to me.
No Problems. Most people driving the car would never even notice. They would say "Boy, it really wakes up after 2900 rpm"

But I notice.

You are welcome to come down and drive it when I put the supercharger on.

Custom. Maybe it's been (badly) SharkTuned?

AFAIK, the main problem you have is that I don't have a '86.5 5-speed. You'd be happier with a (blue) '85.

Its probably autothority. I am almost positive that there has been no sharktuning on it. As always an interesting history.

If you need it, I have a set of stock '85 5-speed chips that I can send you for cloning.

Thanks Imo - that's an option for me. I would like to figure out what it is, and it may be that I need to get Ken's chips so he can look at the files, but the hesitation is very slight and barely affects drivability. Well, it affects drivability, but its not disastrous.

Again, I appreciate your offer.

You probably will not like what i have planned for this very rare model.

Yes, confirmed. It seems to push lean under o2 control when the throttle is opened quite a bit, but under 2900rpm. It then recovers after 2900 rpm. But will stay quite lean 14.5, 14.6 even when accellerating, and I believe this is causing some of the surging and rev issues there.

Mine's SOLVED.
New injectors. $167 delivered.
Unbelievable difference -- been struggling with this for 18 months.
The long travel of the gas pedal to get the car accelerating is gone.
Your's didn't sit as long as mine, but don't rule them out!
Can probably trim mixture now using Ken's Blink'r.

Mine, however is still doing what it's been doing. Lean from down low to 2900rpm and stumbling. Just very slightly. Since it runs so well for the rest of the rev range, I dont think it's the same issue as our landseer here.

I think it could be, Brendan, our symptoms were so similar.
Mine would sometimes run great at heavy throttle.
Don't you have another set to try in inventory somewhere?
2 hour job.

Brendan,
As I'm sure you know, Chris is pretty tuned into these idiosyncratic 928 issues. He having taken most, if not all his cars from near-dead to running/legal drivers... is a walking 928 maintenance trend logistic manager.
May be fair to consider replacing the injectors.

I'm not sure as I don't have alot of parts lay.... Wait a minute!

I DO have so many parts laying around!

Actually I have been cleaning the garage this weekend. Trying to organize the space so I can start on the parts swapping.

I am not sure I have the 24lb ones though. I know have some 19s. Of course new for the price you got them for...

The characteristic of mine is to ALWAYS run great once it comes out of 3000rpm.
