Stopped at side of road Squeel from rear whilst not in gear
I have just stopped my car at side of road as there seems to be a squeel from the rear of the TT somewhere. It does matter whether in drive or not, I can hear it at idle, any ideas can I drive it the 10m home?

Either a dry/failing bearing or a foreign object scrubbing the driveshaft or converter. My guess is a bearing.
Possible damage if you drive it home would be total bearing failure. Depending upon which bearing is involved, total failure could scar the driveshaft or torque tube, or damage the torque converter or its housing.
That being said, there is no way to predict how long the bearing will operate before coming apart. Sometimes a roller or ball bearing will squeal or grind for a long time before total failure. Speed is a factor - the chances of failure go up with increasing speed. If you elect to drive it home, drive slowly and shift as soon as possible.

got it home ok, thanks. it disappeared with speed, then reappeared after a few minutes at idle speed. I'll try and look underneath the car tomorrow and see if i can find any thing.

it might be the front pump on the transmission, check the fluid level and enjoy the noise it usually goes away when the trans is in drive or reverse
