Oh, now it makes sense. When I read it was set-up for delayed shifting, it didn't quite make sense.
With the kickdown switch, you can set it to hold the gears or downshift sooner, which is great!

Where did the 2:54 gear come from?

2.54 should be stock on a 89 S4 automatic..

I knew I kept that 89 auto trans for a reason.
For some reason I thought it was a 2:63, oh well.

IIRC it is 2.64 for 89 manual.

ROW '87-88 S4 5sp is 2.54:1, '89 is same 2.64:1 as US model.

Running 235/40-18" Conti Sport Contact 2 tires in front, and 285/30-18 Rear.
Speedo is right on.

You sure Erkka? RoW Auto's are 2.54 - I thought all 5-speeds from 87-89 are the 2.64?
