Guards Red......
several months ago i promised a "bring your Guards Red paint back to life" thread on the 44 forums.
well i got really busy and then completely forgot. i no-longer have a Guards Red P-car.
years ago, a good autobody man in Massachusetts told me exactly what to do.... so i did.
i thought i'd repost here since some of you might have similar issues with fading guards red.
anyway, thought this was a good "how-to-do" w/ lots of pics.
btw, this is not my 928, but these are better pics than i have of my old Guards Red '87 944 S.
Single stage paints from the 80's/90's can be revived even with heavy oxidation and swirls/scratches. Biggest problem is that you can't do it frequently since a great deal of paint needs to be removed to achieve decent results.
I need to clean up my neglected paint. One thing I am not sure about. Does this look guards red or a different shade of red? It is an 87. Where can I find the paint code to make sure? I will be needing some touch up paint and will need to respray the flag mirrors.

There's a guy on here whose screen name is Michaelanthome IIRC that had a pink 928 and buffed it to look brand new. I still want to know what that guy used to get that car so pretty!
