S4 intake is 9mm, GT 10mm etc. Your car being automatic its fairly safe to assume they are S4 cams. Its unlikely anyone would have installed GT cams into it in Japan but anything is possible.

Pitting on those pics do not look as bad as it could on worst case but is fairly advanced already. In my opinion they are right at point when they should be replaced.
Yes Errka the 1-4 intake on mine is 271 00

Mark you mean yours are in good shape or are you saying these will run for another year or 6000 miles

Brad,

This is what I have:

One Camshaft intake 928.105.272.0
One camshaft exhaust 928.105.274.0

I was looking for 150$ last year. I can ship them to you if you want to take a look at them.

$150 sounds to good to be true. Thank you. Do they have any pitting on them like mine.
I was also wondering if anyone knows if there is a difference between EURO and US cams

S4 cams are the same for every model (ROW/US).

The pitting is likely caused by weak valve springs. Maybe dyno the springs if you put stock cams back in!

No, that's not caused by weak springs but by idling. That's why I mentioned Japan, their driving habits see more city driving and idling is the greatest threat to a camshaft.

I would sell all four S4 cams ( complete set with mated lifters )for a couple hundred bucks if the heads get purchased by that other fellow ( Kingsman ). I'm really trying to avoid getting stuck with just heads or just cams.

That would be great if it's not to much trouble.
I suspect they do not have matching lifters?

BTW everyone, thank-you for your help, but I am still not sure if this is the way I should go or if I should get new or if I should get bilit, or if I should get reground.

Aren't you going to supercharge your car? Seems to me there are a lot of people making a whole lot of power with stock S4 cams. I haven't been paying attention- do GT cams (or Devek L-whatever) or other non-stock cams make a significant difference in a supercharged S4?

I would like to in the future, that is why I removed the heads, to inspect and install performance gaskets.
I will have to wait for my retention pay out though, to afford a blower and kit.
I can throw this on my card no problem but I have already spent what the original price of the car was and Deb and I wanted to take holidays this year which i know will run at least 5G at trip. I used ub all my extra cash and the card already exceds the price of the car. ha ha sheeet
