Look, I'm not here to defend myself from the 928 community. You don’t have to like our 928, it's ours and we like it....isn’t that all that matters. And something is worth, whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

I'm not sure what it is your saying here. Are you pulling the heads or just down to the heads? Which would be just the intake.

You don't need to defend yourself, you should be able to answer basic automotive questions when you are selling a car.

What does that mean exactly?
How were the heads done? what RA on them?
Were the guides replaced?
What kind of valve job?
Was the block also surfaced?
you mentioned the radiator, what was done to it?
Were all the hoses replaced that came off when the heads were done?

Nobody here is trying to give you a hard time, we just want to be informed about what was done to the car.

I am the original poster. In a twisted way I guess my question was answered.

I will be more than happy to outline the entire process from purchase to being listed on the internet. This will take some time to put together. We will list it later today. Then all will know what has been done to the car mechanically. God knows if you keep track of the money you never win... but I will painfully add up work done for you all.

This is going to hurt__:0( I know I stopped counting when work was around $7,000

You really should take the time and be specific if you are going to ask the premium that you are asking. A market economist would let it pass, but the game you are playing with HP numbers is Palin logic, and dishonest to all concerned. Just stop it.

You seem to relish using the terms "frame off" and "frame on" intending to impress; then why don't you do that instead of leaving areas unpainted that you couldn't reach above the "tork" (sic) tube. We know if you did you would be in stratospheric numbers and would look silly showing it out of a tent. I know you put a lot of time into this, such as it is, and mean well, but I'm sorry, it looks amateurish or that you are just covering rust with Testor's.

The terms are "torque" and "whole."

GLTS Time to move on.

WE ARE STILL PUTTING THIS LIST TOGETHER OF WHAT WE HAVE DONE TO THIS 928 SINCE WE PURCHASED IT.
We will keep adding as we remember it.

WORK WE HAVE DONE ON THIS 1980 928

We bought this 928 instantly because of the history of the car and the beautiful condition the 3 owners took care of the car of over the last 31 years. It was in really good condition before we bought it. And we know this 928 has had a creampuff life by the service records we hold. We brought the car to our mechanic to make a punch list of all that needed to be done to make it mechanically perfect, reliable, and a daily driver. The car is in great shape but did sit more than it was driven..... so here we go............

________________________________________________________________________ ___________

ENGINE, DRIVE TRAIN, SUSPENTION:

We inspected the front-end and replaced inner and outer front bearings…. (The rest of the front end was in really good condition, ball joints, and control arms, done in the past) steering rack in Perfect condition.

We had a compression test done on the engine, Oil change on engine, oil change on manual transmission, oil change on rear-end….(Went through the oil with a magnet and found no filings), Plugs, cap, rotor, wires, new electronic injectors, fuel Pressure regulators, new Fuel rails, and Both fuel pumps back at the tank, along with replacing all old rubber lines.

Disassembled the entire top of the engine (intake), which gave us room to clean, paint and detail the engine compartment. Reassembled the entire intake system with new gaskets, rubber, vacuum lines, and with cleaned and rebuilt throttle body.

New alternator

All new linkage for manual transmission shifting

Installed short shifter for nice tight shift pattern

New A/C compressor and expansion valve. (R-12)

Drained and flushed all brake and clutch lines replaced with new fluid

Drained and flushed all engine radiator system

Inspected clutch…All good, Tight and New….(Was done around 118,000 with the belt and pump….2 discs, Throughout Bering, Pilot Bering, intermediate disc, plastic cup at top of clutch arm, pressure plate, the works.

Tire on back right side was worn from bent sway bar on that side…..replaced both sway bars in back.

Inspected rear-end and ½ shafts and seals. All good…

Shocks all good... (Replaced in the past)

Springs all good… (Original)

BODY AND EXTERIOR:

We took the original paint job on this car and gently rubbed it out and put a fine coat of wax on it. The exterior of the car has been maintained over the years by NICK ORSO’S BODY SHOP in Syracuse NY. The only part of the car that has ever been repainted was the front nose because of chips and scratches from highway driving.

The wheel wells and under side of the car have also been wire brushed, cleaned, and repainted.

All four rims have been sanded down and refinished.

We applied the Porsche decal on the back bumper and side of car with the fender badge to compliment the black front bra that comes with this purchase of this 928

Interior:

We completely took the entire inside of the car apart. Pulled seats, carpet, dash, interior panel’s right down to the floor boards. This is the way I like to detail the inside of a 928. We installed a new stereo system and replaced all factory speakers from 1980 with updated equipment including a nice 6 channel stereo with sub subwoofer. Cleaned, shampooed, detailed, all interior panels, carpet, dash pieces and treated with leather treatment. Reinstalled all interior cleaned and leather treated. While dash was out checked to make sure seal was not broken on speedometer connection behind the dash…

Installed custom LED lighting for the under areas of the inside floor and the dash display. The lights on the original dash are not bright enough for me. These lights can be turned on or off as desired.

We purchased new red carpets with back 928 lettering for front foot area to accent the front compartment with some red.

We replaced two switches for the windows.

All new windshield wipers all the way around

We completed total fuse box maintenance. Replacing all fuses and relays, cleaning and making sure all contacts are good, and that all electrical options work correctly.

Replaced all light bulbs in the entire car.

4 New tires

more to come.........

Has anyone else on this forum ever seen an eBay listing for a Porsche 928 with 62 changes in the information listed in four days of the listing? Check this one out.

This Porschedon928 guy is not very responsive to the questions that he invited us to present, but he does seem to be learning from them.

It is also interesting how all of his previous posts in this thread are somehow gone and this latest self serving one (which is also part of the latest version of the eBay listing) is shown as his very first posting on this forum.

WTF-O?
