JP,
Sounds like the defrost with a green line.

Hilton,
Awesome job and great pictures.

We sell a diaphragm for replacement in the center (comb) and footwell actuators which is cheaper than buying the Porsche actuator from which to rob the diaphragm. The other bonus with our diaphragm is that it is flurosilicone and less likly to fail than the old rubber diaphragm.

Roger,
let me verify against Hiltons pics and I will come back to you. Mine is 83, and I believe some line colours are different. Its position is consistent with Hilton's green line unit though. Are the diaphragms specific to each different actuator usage? Is the footwell unit easier to access while I have the pod out, or would I need to remove more/different stuff to get at it?
thanks

Hi John, the green line you can see on the right-side of the center vent (on your RHD car) under the pod is indeed the defrost actuator.

The comb flap is the orange line and access requires removing the centre console, as the actuator is on the left side of the center vent (in an RHD car).

If none of your HVAC vacuum lines are leaking I would just leave them until one fails (most likely is the comb flap), then pull the console and do them all in one go.

Hilton,
You mean you dont ascribe to the principle of 'if it aint broke, fix it till it is' ?
Ok, will leave well enough alone for now.
Just have to go through re-assembling the pod now, and I have learned something new. Major problem now is getting the freshly cleaned and painted/lacquered leather pod back in place without getting dirty fingerprints all over it, being as its WHITE.

tks
