you can go to any paint supply shop and they can match your colors in SEM or DuPont or what ever brands they sell, to try to mail order it is going to be the worst cost and results

Hi Nuc,
Dealers are paid, but they are not always that reliable for old cars. I think that was the purpose of Vilhauer's remark. PET is essentially an archival record. I have used Leatherique to redye parts of my seat. Their website is very informative and they are very helpful people. Be sure to emphasize surface preparation, as with any paint job. Wet sanding with 400-600 grit is crucial for all treated surfaces. You will be surprised how much your interior color has change over the years, and your new dye may not match perfectly. If you are doing complete seats, the very minor mismatch will probably not be noticeable. Good luck, be sure to let the final surface cure for several days before using and I am sure you will be very pleased.

The only interior code that was on the codes label was HX. To find out LG5 as the seat color, the dealer must run the VIN to pull all the codes, these are not the codes that are available on the option codes sticker.

Plus, aren't the dealership guys getting paid?
Its very simple. PET lists all available standard colors for all model years. You just need to make list of possible choices for your particular MY and then select correct color from those possibilities. You are right in that there is no direct connection from HX code to particular colors in PET but its possible to find LG5 using above method. There is no need for VIN info at all. All you need is MY info.
