Default Exhaust after headers

So exactly what are people doing for exhaust after they install headers on an 87 S4 these days? Pictures, an explanation of where you acquired the parts, and sound clips would be appreciated. Joe

I only have an 80 5sp with headers. I added a Y pipe in the place of the cat and then straight back into the stock end muffler. I personally like the note of almost straight exhaust but you need to decide for yourself. I think with an X pipe and straight back you will like it a lot. It is a V8 afterall

LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES

The 928 does not set off car alarms. I have a Sunbeam Alpine (4cyl) that is really loud with straight exhaust and horrible to drive without proper muffling.

Are you talking about MSDS Headers and the like, or the stock manifolds?

MSDS headers. I had thoughts of ordering an X-pipe and then cutting it and rewelding it to work with the headers but it seems a shame to do this. Joe
