Son's 944S wouldn't start yesterday, so he took the 928. Left it parked near the street last night and someone side swiped it.
Left rear quarter panel, door/mirror and left front fender damage. Report filed this a.m with Sheriff's dept.
No suspects ...yet. Some incriminating evidence left at the scene. Step pad off their Nerf bars on their truck found laying next to the car. Isolated neighborhood with very little non-local traffic. I will be eying the hood when I get off this afternoon.
If you find them you will get a good paint job out of it for free anyway with little REAL damage to the car. That happened to my '92 about 2 years ago. 17 year old girl, not watching carefully ran right in to the passenger side of my car and pushed me up on to a curb. Got all four wheels refinished, new tires and the majority of the car painted! NICE!!! Thank you Allstate!
This happened to my 944 at the UT campus. Girl in 4 runner was trying to parallel park and gave it a good hard smack on the rear quarter (which is fiberglass on my car). Luckily the fiberglass flexed and didn't crack but it took off the paint in a few spots. Then she parked right behind me. When I got there is was SO obvious it was her ha! Nothing ever came of it though, I patched the little nicks in the paint, buffed and moved on. Just a DD.
