Default Todd's Twin Turbo Intake is complete - Photos Uploaded

I apologize for taking so long with any significant updates on this project. Since it's been a while I figured start a new thread.

Same link as before, hopefully it's obvious the links with *** are the ones uploaded today:

http://www.erik27.com/todd/ (under Twin Turbo 928)

It may not be obvious in the photos, the top piece of the intake is not flat, it has a gentle curve on purpose to strengthen the intake. Todd used an English Wheel to form the shape.

Other updates - the Autronic system has been fully wired. He has some finishing welds to do on the hot side parts and a few other small odds & ends to clean up. Then it's turn key.

Todd doesn't plan on waiting for spring

This is the prototype intake, the 2nd one is already spoken for (no, it's not going to me).

That's outrageous. Lots of ports for who knows what. Water injection, boost... And the internal supports. A few psi over a bunch of square inches really adds up.

Thanks. I've waited quite a while for this. It looks like an ant eater with 8 legs.

Digging the side shrouds for the radiator.. very simple and useful on any 928.

Zowie. That there is some work. Is that really a stock radiator under all the shrouding?

Todd gonna need his own liquor license for all the alcohol being sprayed on the intercooler?

WOW......thats gonna be wild......I just wonder how cool it will run with a stock radiator and those monster intercoolers in front of it....however fans that draw 50 amps EACH must flow quite a bit of air too

Hooly Dooly that is looking very serious! Tuomo has some competition here.

That there deserves a hot tuna caserole!

Spectacular work - I wouldn't expect anything else from the mad scientist.

It's the simple things like those shrouds that are often missed in a project like this, reason why I wanted to single them out.
Todd doesn't even want to estimate how much time he has into those.

Yes, 100% stock radiator (same as the red car) with no thermostat in both. He modified the radiator bridge to run without one.

He regulates the engine temp using the two massive cooling fans. He knowingly gives up some engine efficiency to keep the heads as cool as possible to help prevent detonation

The fans are not only very powerful, he made custom shrouds with an extremely tight gap to the blades and he added a couple blades to each fan.

This is a very similar setup to the red car with the same size IC. When he powers on the fan with the engine off, you can feel the massive amounts of air being drawn through the coolers.

Funny you should say that, one of the goals with this car is to make it as quiet as possible, a real sleeper.

Now that's some good engineering. The details like the reinforcements and radiused surfaces make for a part you can count on. If most anyone else attempted an intake like that, it would probably crack eventually causing lean engine 'blowup' issues. This one is done right!

I second the tuna casserole bestowment!

Wow very nice work. The man hours put into this project must be immense!

Can't wait to see a report on how it runs and dyno #'s...

Doesn't there need to be some kind of flex or expansion between the heads?

He wasn't happy with the tune on the red car until he was able to balance a nickle on it's side, on the intake manifold with the car idling.
He has the same goals for this engine.

It's all aluminum. The exhaust manifolds have flex centers because they are stainless.
