Default MAss airflow Sensor

okay, maybe an easy question.

What would the symptoms be of a bad mass airflow sensor? If you look down inside the sensor, under the metal screen, there is the center part, then the outer part. the outer has small wires in a circle around the center. One of those wires (looks like a light bulb filament) is broken on this one.

Would that cause the hard to start (have to press gas in to make it start) condition? Also would it cause the acceleration or lack there of when advancing the throttle?

thanks.

Yes! I had mine rebuilt by injectionlabs.com but others here on RL are very qualified to rebuild. JDSPorsche.com has US/Canadian based affiliates. See site for FAQ on the MAF.

What you see is a broken platinum hot wire, it should have 3 sides visible. Louie Ott in OR has my rebuilds in stock, see my website for his contact details. Or PM louie928

Roger at 928sRUS usually has rebuilt units in stock as well. I just replaced mine with a rebuilt unit and it worked like a charm...
